Vital records are permanent records of the town. Ripton's earliest records of births, marriages and deaths, date from 1857. As of July 2019, the State of Vermont Department of Public Health will hold birth and death records. You may request copies from the Dept. of Public Health or from any town office (though the town office must request them from the Dept. of Public Health). Ripton vital records may be searched at the Ripton Town Office during office hours or on-line at the Vermont Department of Health or the Vermont State Archives websites. Marriage records are available at the town office.
